Use a Computer
Computers are available for public use at all Dakota County Library branches. Find out what software is installed on Library computers. 

Computers are devoted to different uses. Check your library branch for availability of these computers:

Internet/Word Processing
Available at all buildings, these computers have Internet access and are loaded with Microsoft Office 2007 (with Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Publisher). A Dakota County Library card or a photo ID is required to use a public computer.

Catalog/Research
Available at all buildings, these computers are dedicated to the library catalog and research tools, such as magazine and newspaper indexes, business databases, consumer information and encyclopedias.

Self-Help Center
Available at Burnhaven and Wentworth libraries, these computers are available to find legal information.

WorkForce Center
The Galaxie, Heritage, Burnhaven and Wescott branches each have one computer from the Minnesota WorkForce Center for use by job seekers.

Children’s Use
Available at many buildings, these computers offer a selection of computer games for children. Call your local library for availability.

Other Computers
Some buildings have stand-alone computers used for word processing. They do not have Internet access, but do have Microsoft Office 2007. Call your local library for availability.
