The Sheriff’s Office wants the public to know that, due to the heavy rains we have received in the past 48 hours, the Lake Byllesby water level has reached 858.2 feet. As a result, the entire water surface of Lake Byllesby has been designed as a slow/no-wake zone. The water level is expected to crest later this evening. The slow/no-wake restriction will remain in effect until the water level returns to below 858.2 feet, which is expected to be in two to three days.
Sheriff’s deputies and park rangers have posted the two Dakota County boat launch sites with this information. The Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office is aware of the situation as well.
If there are any questions, please contact Chief Deputy Tim Leslie at the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office, (651) 438-4710.
