Fatal Crash on October 16, 2010
The Dakota County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an accident involving two motorcycles and a passenger car that claimed the life of a Lakeville man. The accident occurred on Cedar Avenue south of 230th Street. The victim has been identified as Ricky Dean Ball. 62 years old, of Lakeville. Also injured in the accident was his wife, Nancy Lynnette Ball, 61 years old, who was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center in serious condition. The victim was driving a 2010 Harley Davidson and his wife a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle.
According to Sheriff Dave Bellows, the victim and his wife were travelling southbound on Cedar Avenue on separate motorcycles. A car travelling northbound attempted to turn into a private driveway and pulled in front of the motorcyclists. The driver of the car has been identified as Donna May Rollins, 76 years old, also of Lakeville. Rollins was driving a 2002 Nissan Maxima. The driver of the Nissan was transported by ambulance to Regions Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The accident remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Patrol. The Lakeville Fire Department also responded to the scene of the fatal accident.
