Two Charged in Rosemount Death of 16-Year-Old
Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom announced that Dakota Cheyenne Butler, age 16, has been charged in juvenile court with one count of Murder in the Second Degree (unintentional murder while committing a felony) and Zachary Albert Butler-Martinez, age 18, has been charged with one count of Aiding an Offender in connection with the March 13th stabbing death of 17 year old Cody D. Casey in Rosemount, where all these individuals resided. Backstrom also indicated that his Office has filed a petition to seek to have Dakota Butler prosecuted as an adult because of the gravity of this offense.
