Bloomington Day Care Provider and Daughter Convicted in Death of 22-Month-Old
| [November 26, 2009] Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom announced that Doris Denise Meeks, age 48, and Harmony Shavon Newman, age 22, both of Bloomington, were convicted by a Hennepin County jury of Manslaughter in the Second Degree (while committing child neglect), and Manslaughter in the Second Degree (while committing child endangerment) in connection with a death of a 22-month-old boy as a result of an incident that occurred in Meeks’ Bloomington home day care on August 28, 2008. |
