Grand Jury Indicts Bloomington Daycare Provider and Daughter for Manslaughter in Death of 22-month-old
| [February 20, 2009] Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom announced that Doris Denise Meeks, age 48, and Harmony Shavon Newman, age 21, both of Bloomington, were indicted* February 19th by a Hennepin County Grand Jury for Manslaughter in the Second Degree - Child Neglect, Manslaughter in the Second Degree - Child Endangerment and Manslaughter in the Second Degree - Culpable Negligence in connection with a death of a 22-month-old boy as a result of an incident that occurred in Meeks’ Bloomington home day care in August, 2008. |
