Burnsville Man Pleads Guilty and is Sentenced for Theft From a Youth Athletic Club
| Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom announced that Douglas Jay Jahnke, age 48 of Burnsville, pleaded guilty today to one count of Theft by Swindle in excess of $35,000 and was sentenced to 120 days in jail and probation for 20 years by Judge Robert King in connection with the disappearance of funds from the Burnsville Athletic Club, a non-profit corporation established to promote youth sports in the Burnsville area. Jahnke was also ordered to pay restitution ($43,000 has already been paid back), take part in a gambling assessment, and remain law abiding. For more information, see the attached news release. |
