Burnsville Man Found Guilty of Murder in Rosemount Shooting
| Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom announced that the second phase of the murder trial of Jonas Gerald Grice, age 28 of Burnsville, has been completed. The second phase of this trial involved the defense of mental illness. In presenting this defense, Grice claimed at the time of the offense he was suffering from a mental illness to the extent that he did not know the nature of his actions or that they were wrong. Dakota County District Court Judge Karen Asphaug announced her rejection of Grice’s defense of mental illness today after a recent court trial on this issue.
