Mother in South St. Paul Charged with Murder of her 10-Year-Old Son
| [July 10, 2009] Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom announced that Patricia Ann Becht, age 42 of South St. Paul, has been charged* with Murder in the First Degree and Attempted Murder in the First Degree in connection with the death of her 10-year-old son, Michael Vonheath Becht, Jr., who died on July 6, 2009, and the injury of her 11-year-old daughter, who is still hospitalized. The charges allege the victims’ mother gave her children an overdose of prescription medication and that she attempted to kill herself by also taking an overdose of such medication. |
