2008 Adult Felony Criminal Prosecutions in Dakota County
[February 9, 2009] Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom has released statistics for 2008 involving adult felony criminal prosecutions handled by his Office. The County Attorney is responsible for the prosecution of all felonies committed by adults (this includes persons age 18 and over and any juvenile certified for prosecution as an adult) that occur in the County. According to Backstrom: The total number of adults charged with felony offenses in Dakota County decreased by almost 9% (1,729 adults were charged with felony offenses in 2008, compared to 1,891 in 2007).
