Q. How do I find out the fees for filing court cases in Dakota County?
A. Two ways.
  • On the internet, go to Filing Fees.
  • Or, you can call Dakota County District Court Administration at 651-438-8100.

Q. Where can I access trial court records?
A. Trial court records and schedules are now available via the Public Access Remote view. Note that this information is also available at terminals in each court house. The court house view is more detailed than the remote view.

Q. Where can I get forms to apply for a waiver of court fees (In Forma Pauperis forms)?
A. On the internet, go to Fee Waiver/In Forma Pauperis packet of forms. Print/download the first two forms:  the Information Sheet and the Affidavit for Proceeding In Forma Pauperis (IFP). Also, you should read the Supplemental Affidavit for Proceeding In Forma Pauperis and decide if you need it.
