Place incandescent light bulbs in the garbage. |
|
Fluorescent bulbs contain mercury which can harm health and the environment if not disposed of properly. Bring fluorescent bulbs to The Recycling Zone. Do not place in the garbage.
If you break a fluorescent bulb in your home, follow the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s clean up guidance. Then bring the broken bulb in a sealed container or plastic bag to The Recycling Zone for proper disposal. |

Many
Home Depot stores accept compact fluorescent bulbs from customers for free. Call first. Ask the retailer where you purchased your bulbs if the store has a "take back" program to accept bulbs for recycling. For other recycling options and drop-off recycling locations in the Twin Cities area, visit
