Passport services are currently available at five Dakota County locations:
Payment Options
- U.S. Department of State fees: check or money order only
- Dakota County fees: Administration Center, Northern Service Center, Western Service Center - check, money order or cash only; Lakeville and Burnsville License Centers - check, money order, cash or credit and debit cards (Discover and MasterCard only)

- Passports are processed and issued by the Federal Government. Visit their website for current processing times.

Requirements for a New Application:
- Applicants must appear in person
- Complete a DS-11 passport application form
- Passport Fees

- Applicant's Social Security number
- Parents’ birth names, birth places, and birth dates
- Proof of citizenship (Provide one of the following):
- Previous Passport
- Certified Birth certificate
- Consular Report of Birth Abroad
- Naturalization Certificate

- One 2” X 2” color photo

- Special requirements for minor applicants under age 16
Requirements for a Renewal:
- If you have been previously issued a passport, you may qualify for the renewal process.
- If you qualify, complete an application form DS-82. Mail directly to address on application.
