Goals and Opportunities:
- Serve as volunteer for the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office and the citizens of Dakota County to increase available services
- Add volunteer part-time police officers who are trained and licensed to our work force
Requirements:
- Volunteer at least 24 hours each quarter of the year
- Attend required monthly meetings, unless excused
- Become licensed by Minnesota Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) Board by meeting licensing requirements (including fees and necessary training)
Duties:
- Patrol with full-time deputies
- Conduct prisoner transports
- Work at the Dakota County Fair
Other Information:
- Part-time peace officers at the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office are licensed and armed
- Uniforms are provided
