One smart community
 Dakota County was named to the Smart21, a group of local government agencies throughout the world that are innovators in information and communications technology, by the Intelligent Community Forum.
The Intelligent Community Forum is an international think tank that shares the best practices in adapting to the demands of the broadband economy. This year, the list included four communities from Europe, 10 from North America, three from Latin America and four from Asia.
