Meet the authors
Several best-selling teen authors will discuss books and writing at Dakota County Library branches as part of the teen summer reading program.
National Book Award winner and author of Feed and The Astonishing Life of Octavian Nothing, M.T. Anderson, will talk about his books on Wednesday, June 22, 2–3:30 p.m. at the Wescott Library in Eagan and 7–8:30 p.m. at the Galaxie Library in Apple Valley.
Laurie Stolarz, the best-selling author of the Blue is for Nightmares and Touch series visits on Thursday, June 23, 1–2:30 p.m. at the Burnhaven Library in Burnsville and 3:30–5 p.m. at the Heritage Library in Lakeville.
Twin Cities author Swati Avasthi will discuss her debut novel on Monday, June 27, 2–3:30 p.m. at the Farmington Library.
Best-selling author of fantasy books for teens, Tamora Pierce will discuss her books on Wednesday, June 29, 2–3:30 p.m. at the Robert Trail Library in Rosemount.
The series concludes when Maggie Stiefvater, best-selling author of the Books of Faerie and The Wolves of Mercy Falls, discusses her books on Monday, July 25, 2–3 p.m. at the Wentworth Library in West St. Paul. This program is co-sponsored by the Red Balloon Bookshop and Scholastic Publishing.
Authors will be available for questions and book signing. Their books will be for sale at the events. No registration is required and all events are free. The author appearances are sponsored in part or in whole with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
